The PBS KIDS LAB site showcases innovative new games and content from across PBS KIDS. We developed the site at WGBH, and we’re pleased to report that works on desktop and mobile, and has a Spanish version too.
DESIGN SQUAD NATION is high-energy, high-drama reality TV series led by Judy and Adam, two professional engineers who work with kids around the world to make their wishes come true through engineering.
Design Squad Nation is a tv show and online community that is all about solving real world problems through creative engineering. On the website anyone can kickoff the brainstorm by submitting a “wish” (a creative problem to be solved). Then anyone can answer that wish by making sketches or uploading photos of their real-world prototypes, contributing to the open-ended design process.
Design Squad explains the physics of how to do an Ollie. I am sure this will make me cooler.
Amazing winning entry to our Design Squad Nation Build Big contest. I didn’t know you could play Bach on a rubber band instrument. Respect.
Curious George’s Busy Day is a suite of 16 games featuring everyone’s favorite monkey. In the game pictured here, “Bubble Pop,” (turn on your mic) and clap your hands to pop the bubble onscreen! Produced by WGBH for PBS KIDS. ® & © 2012 Universal Studios and/or HMH. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED.
Design Squad Fidgit is a physics-based puzzle game where you create a Rube Goldberg style machine to bounce, flip and roll cute creatures called “fidgits” to their goal. Just another great game we produced over at WGBH interactive.
Martha Speaks Dog Party is an iPhone app I produced with the talented interactive group at WGBH. I can’t prove it, but I think this is the first app ever where you control a dog tongue to lick a plate clean.
I am the very model of a modern-made material…
New York Times columnist David Pogue sings a ditty about a “mystery material” as part of an online contest for the NOVA series Making Stuff, produced at WGBH. A little riff on Gilbert and Sullivan with new lyrics written by me.
